A dermoid cyst is a type of benign tumor sometimes referred to as mature cystic teratoma. It is an abnormal cyst that usually affects younger women and may grow to 6 inches in diameter. Symptoms of a dermoid cyst include abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, nausea, pain during sexual intercourse and unexplained weight gain, some women report bloating of the tummy to the point where they can appear 6 months pregnant.
